THE UK INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY OFFICE TODAY LAUNCHED A FIVE YEAR STRATEGY SETTING OUT GOVERNMENT PLANS TO BOOST BRITISH INNOVATION AND THE UK’S CREATIVE SECTOR

The UK’s Intellectual Property Office (IPO) on 21st January 2016 has launched an ambitious five year strategy setting out government plans to further bolster British innovation and the UK’s booming creative sector.

The publication Making life better by supporting UK creativity and innovation', highlights core areas of focus that will help boost economic growth and competitiveness via a world-class Intellectual Property (IP) regime. This includes:

UK GOVERNMENT RATIFIES INTERNATIONAL AGREEMENT TO STRENGTHEN PROTECTION OF EXPLOITED WORKERS

On 22nd January 2016, The Minister for Preventing Abuse and Exploitation Karen Bradley has ratified a legally binding international agreement, which sets out action needed to tackle forced labour and punish perpetrators furthering the Government’s commitment to protect UK workers from exploitation.

The UK is the third country in the world to sign up to the international commitment with the ILO, after Niger and Norway.
